Statement of MOD on situation in Central African Republic

Ministry of National Defence is permanently monitoring the situation in Central African Republic and stays in regular contact with French Ministry of Defence. Other state institutions act in the similar way by, inter alia, maintaining contact with Polish citizens including missionaries, who are in the area of the conflict.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Polish citizens to leave the territory of Central African Republic. Ministry of National Defence supports that appeal.
From 1st February Polish Military Contingent directed to support logistically the French operation Sangaris in Central African Republic, stationing in military base in Orlean (France) achieved operational readiness. It consists of two crews, ground staff and one transport aircraft Hercules C-130. Poland's participation in that operation has only supportive character that is why no Polish combat units are stationing in CAR.
